IS MY SUBARU WARRANTY VOID IF NOT
SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP?
Keep Your Warranty
You have the right to have your Subaru serviced according to the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule at any qualified shop, including your local independent Subaru repair shop. Let’s face it, auto repairs can be expensive and when you buy that new or used Subaru from the dealership, you want to make sure your Subaru is covered with a vehicle warranty if anything should go wrong and need repairs.
It’s common to hear, especially from a Subaru dealership, that once you purchase your Subaru with a factory warranty, scheduled maintenance and repairs must be completed at the dealership or else it voids the warranty. This is quite the myth and unfortunately, many people believe it to be true.
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and your rights
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act helps ensure that having service and repair work done outside of the Subaru dealership will not void your manufacturer warranty unless it can be proven that the service performed or part installed on the vehicle resulted in failure of the warrantable item. At Six Star Subaru Service we employ a staff of factory-trained ASE master technicians and prefer genuine Subaru parts for our repairs along with parts made by the companies that supply OEM parts to Subaru.
